Allegra Innovations and AMT is proud to share that Dr Nick Hartnell, has won the 2025 InnovationAus Awards for Excellence, in the Paul Shetler Disrupter of the Year category.
The award recognises individuals who challenge the status quo, identify new opportunities and turn bold ideas into meaningful change. Nick’s nomination recognises his work at BLT, where he is developing innovative soft tissue reconstruction devices using ethically sourced kangaroo tissue.
As a practising orthopaedic surgeon, Nick saw firsthand the limitations of traditional ACL graft options and set out to develop a better solution. What began as personal research has evolved into a pioneering medical technology and the foundation of BLT.
